Leaving behind more than memories...

We all have memories; we all have photos of past and when we see them; time suddenly starts staring back to us. Features of those photos suddenly seem to be painted with feelings…but then what feelings?

Well the feelings depend on how we remember our past? It’s often said that things of the past are never viewed in their true perspective or receive their just value; but value and perspective change with the individual that is looking back.

Science says “For the Brain, remembering is like reliving”. Isn’t it so very true? We live the moments all over again by remembering…don’t we still feel the “goose bum’ just by the thought of the first touch of that one person… the joy of wining the first inter school competition…the same joy by remembering the time spend with our best friends, trying to sum up the meaning of a friendship we had managed to maintain through thick and thin for years… the same fear and pain to think of how hard it was to say goodbye to that one person. Wasn’t it nearly impossible to give them that one last hug and turn around and then walk away...?

I have been spending most of the times these days with my memories…re-living every moment, living in may past. … There have been times that while thinking about the old stuff. I suddenly put forward my arms to hold only to know it has gone so far that it’s now just unreachable…

Now I have realized we just can’t live in past…As long I'm alive; as the song says, I can make if I just remember life keeps moving on…

“Yaadon se rukhe, thak ke mein, lauti to ye pata chala
pairon mein theh, chaale pade, mushkil tha kitna yeh faasla”

Though I realize we need to move on; I will still keep my memories intact…I will prefer being a miser of my memories of my loved ones and not spend them…

But again Ill have a memory and not memory having me…
